Your role

Our Product & Engineering team design and develop the mechanics of our physical product and the electronics that goes into it. We develop the firmware that runs on the device and the cloud service it communicates with. We design and develop the mobile and web apps that our customers use. In short, there’s a lot of exciting work to be done, and by joining us you will be one of our keys to success!

We are seeking an experienced Senior Product Manager to drive the product requirements for all new hardware products. This position will play a pivotal role in ensuring we build the right product for the right customers.

We also believe, and are sure you agree, that presence with our customers and observing the animals are important to further develop the product in use. In the field you will gather much information and use those findings to make sure our product continues to be even better.

Your responsibilities

• Define the hardware requirements for all our hardware products, which currently includes the collars, batteries, beacons, chargers, but may expand in the future. 
• Balance customer needs, technical feasibility, and business goals in order to deliver the right product to the right customers.  
• Collaborate closely with VP Product and other key stakeholders to align hardware development with the broader product roadmap.
• Maintain a detailed understanding of customer feedback and field data to continuously refine hardware requirements.
• Partner closely with engineering, design, and manufacturing teams to translate requirements into actionable designs and requirements.
• Facilitate the decision-making process throughout the development process to ensure alignment within the development team and to stakeholders.
• Benchmark competitors solutions and performance, technology advancements and macro trends to make sure our future products remain market leading.
• Act as the voice of the customer within the organisation, ensuring hardware designs address real-world needs.
• Clearly communicate and document the rationale behind each product requirements, what trade-offs were made, and provide updates to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• You will work closely with the project manager for new hardware products, who is responsible for making sure the project is executed according to the right cost, time and quality, and fulfils those requirements set forward by the product manager.

Qualifications

The right candidate is preferred to have the following qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of product management or similar role involved in driving key product requirements for hardware products.
• Bachelor's or Masters degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or related fields.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Excellent documentation skills ensuring that all decisions and requirements are well documented, and trade-offs are explained.
• Ability to convert large amounts of customer data, market trends, competitor information and business goals into actionable product requirements.
• Proactive approach to identifying and resolving challenges.
• Driven and result oriented, making sure we don't get caught in an "analysis paralysis" even when all data may not be readily available.
• Fluent English oral and written communication skills. Our working language is English.
