As we aim to revolutionize livestock management we will need top-notch competence in our Core team, and we are now looking for a Senior Product Manager. As the PM for the Core team at Nofence, you will have a massive impact on the underlying foundation of our product, the customer experience and the business. The Core team’s scope encompasses key elements of our Core Product, including connectivity, power management, fence logic and GNSS accuracy. This is a deeply technical environment where managing complexity and prioritizing fleet-wide end-user impact is part of the daily work of a PM.

We believe in empowered cross-functional teams led by a tight-knit Tech Trio of Product, Experience and Engineering. In this role, you will act as the ultimate bridge: translating complex, abstract technical realities into clear customer impact for the team and the rest of the company. You will be the strategic glue driving product discovery, prioritization and validation.

About the role

Product & technical leadership

• Partner with Engineering, UX, Data, Research, Support and market teams to define problems to solve and build prioritized roadmaps

• Deeply understand abstract, "under-the-hood" parts of the core product that lack a user interface, mapping them out to anticipate and communicate real-world customer impact

• Lead the team in navigating fleet-wide trade offs in key areas such as power optimization, data connectivity and GNSS accuracy

• Lead continuous product discovery to mitigate risks across value, feasibility and technical viability, striking a balance between technical constraints and animal welfare

• Oversee the full lifecycle of features within the Core scope, ensuring smooth firmware releases and minimizing unexpected customer disruptions

• Champion the creation of high-value, comprehensive documentation for backend logic and firmware to ensure clarity across technical and non-technical stakeholders

Team leadership

• Nurture and lead a tight-knit Tech trio, delegating effectively within the Trio and across the wider team where necessary

• Foster a team culture of openness, ownership, psychological safety and a learn-fast mindset. Continually assess whether team structure, ownership model and ways of working are optimal and suggest improvements as needed

• Work comfortably alongside engineers at code level rather than operating purely on an abstract product layer

• Lead through strategic discovery, trade-off navigation, untangling complex technical requirements and resolving bottlenecks to maximise team impact

• Build strong partnerships with fellow PMs, UX designers and researchers to ensure user-centric thinking is applied even to the most technical backend infrastructure

• Build relationships with in all tech offices (Oslo, Molde and Trondheim)

Organizational impact

• Translate technical infrastructure achievements to customer impact so the broader organization understand why investing in the Core matters

• Communicate product roadmap and progress in P&E and the wider organisation, setting expectations with stakeholders across the board and acting as a “voice of Product” within Nofence

• Contribute to fostering a strong Product culture of openness, deep technical curiosity and an experimental mindset through your own behavior and example, as well as by taking initiative to improve our culture

About you

You might be the right candidate if:

• You have 5 years of Product Management or similar experience involved in driving product requirements for complex products

• You have a strong general engineering or technical background. You do not need to be a firmware engineer yourself, but you should be able to dig into technical logic and learn complex systems quickly

• You thrive in agile, fast-paced and fluid environments where processes are continuously built and optimized. You prefer cross-functional autonomy over rigid corporate setups

• You have a proven track record of successfully managing products that lack a UI/UX application layer

• You are a direct, transparent communicator who values clarity, constructive alignment and data-backed rationale

• Despite working deep in the technical stack, you maintain a relentlessly user-centric mindset, always framing backend decisions through the lens of customer impact and animal welfare

Nice-to-haves:

• Prior experience working with IoT devices, positioning systems, connectivity protocols or cellular networks (e.g., eSIM, multi-carrier fallback logic) is a plus

• Experience or strong interest in hardware-adjacent software
